Do you really need a dog collar for your dog? It's a pupular question ... But the answer is yes and here's why...
Many people don't want to irritate their dog by making them wear a collar. We totally understand that. But the fact of the matter is it's all about finding the right dog collar for your dog. There are many collars that won't irritate your best friend. Like the sport dog collar we created called the SportCollar. We've lined it with neoprene for a variety of reasons, but mainly because it increases the comfort for your canine.
Additionally, collars are actually important! One reason is because they provide a way to identify your pup. Dog forbid (see what I did there?) your pup ever goes missing, someone who finds him or her can look on the dog collar for the name identification tag and contact number to return your lost pooch. If your dog wasn't wearing a dog collar, it would be much harder for someone to find you. Yes, they could bring your dog to a vet or shelter to check if your dog had an ID chip inside the fur somewhere, but that would take a lot more time and effort - time and effort that many people don't want to take.
Finally, the dog collar is a way to give your pup some style and flare. Dogs don't wear clothes (well, most don't) so the dog collar is the only place where a dog owner can express their - and their dogs - unique style.
So remember, it's not about whether you should or shouldn't put a collar on your dog, it's just about finding the perfect fit. Literally and figuratively.
