GEICO's marketing/creative department has done it again! Their new digital ad featuring a dog eating an entire family's dinner is simply amazing. And hysterical!
They're called "pre-roll ads" - something we're all very familiar (and often annoyed) with - those pesky commercials that appear for 10, 15 or 30 seconds - but what feels like forever - before streaming the actual video we are trying to see. Well the genius collaborators at GEICO are taking full advantage of these annoying pre-roll ads with a new one of their own - and you can see it here, on our SportBlog, below.
And trust us, you're welcome.
"Our goal is to bring attention to Geico in a space that is often hated," said Joe Alexander, chief creative officer at The Martin Agency, which has also created three other mock freeze-frame Geico spots besides this one.
And they clearly succeeded. According to USA Today, this GEICO "Family" pre-roll ad logged over 725k unaided YouTube views in one day.
Personally speaking, I've been a huge fan of the GEICO commercials and campaigns for years, so maybe I'm a little bias since I now think everything they put out is pure gold. But this commercial is worth your time, ESPECIALLY, if you're a dog lover. I promise you.
Thank you, GEICO, for a daily-doggy-dose of laughter.
