If you're a sports fan and haven't heard about this yet, Klay Thompson set an NBA record Friday night for most points in a single quarter ... with 37!
And since this is the SportBlog after all, it's not only worthy of a recap - but you, Mr. Thompson, are 1000% this week's SportLeash Super Athlete of the Week.
The previous NBA record of 33, held by George Gervin - had the #1 spot for almost (ironically) 37 years - before Thompson channeled his inner Michael Jordan and went off for 37 in the third this past Friday against Sacramento. I've been a sports fan my entire life - and just when I thought the Seahawks Packers 2015 NFC Championship game was the craziest thing I've watched in sports in a long time (sorry, Packers fans), I tuned into the Kings Warriors game the other night.
Thompson DID NOT MISS A SHOT in the third quarter. He was 13-13 from the field - he hit 9 three-pointers, 4 two-point field goals and 2 foul shots (all with under 10 minutes left in the quarter) ... and the energy inside Oracle Arena was unbelievable - and I was just watching it on TV!
For those that missed Thompson's record-setting performance, or if you're simply a huge bball fan like me and want to see the highlights again, check them out below ...
Congrats from Team SportLeash, Klay Thompson! We're huge fans. And you're an absolute Super Athlete.
