Kids have tons of energy. So do puppies...and like humans, when they get older, naturally they slow down a bit. Certain breeds have dispositions and personalities that are prone to exhibit a lot more energy and require a lot more exercise than others.
It's important when choosing a dog to understand these predisposed traits and try to align those with your [family's] personality and lifestyle...for example, if you love coach-potatoing, I would probably suggest a lap dog over any of the dogs below.
