Every summer, the State Street Mile, hosts their annual running event in Santa Barbara, CA.  This is a dog friendly running event that's fun for all ages...and they say on their website they 'offer something for everyone and every dog who runs, jogs or walks.'

This year, there were plenty of friendly joggers, but they got some serious talent in the mix.  Brian Duff, and his 5 year old Weimaraner, Kaydom, stepped up to the plate and blazed to a new human-dog mileage record...at a blazing 4:13!!!

And as if that wasn't unbelievable, he had another guy-dog duo on his tail finishing at 4:27!

Duff gives all the credit to his pooch.  “I was just trying to run as fast as I could to keep up with him,” Duff said. “I think I was the one who was holding Kaydom back."

And it seems although Duff is a former competitive 800-meter runner, Kaydom, who apparently averages up to 40 miles a week alongside Duff, is apparently the real speedster.   “He doesn’t break a sweat when we go on four or five mile runs; it’s nothing to him,” Duff said. “We hit a dog park at the halfway mark and I let him off his leash. That’s where he gets his speedwork in.”

You see that...dogs again proving they're not only good for your happiness....but also your health!
